UNFOLD THE UNTOLD
Unfold the Untold is a joyous and innovative intergenerational Healing Arts project that ran from Autumn 2023 to Summer 2024 working with two Cumberland Infirmary hospital wards, Beech C and Elm C, and children at Houghton Church of England primary school, Carlisle. The project was funded by Arts Council England and North Cumbria Hospitals NHS Charity.
Designed and led by Healing Art’s artists, the project enhanced wellbeing by bringing together patients, staff and children through shared storytelling and creativity.
Weekly sessions of creative conversations woven in with puppetry, poetry and crafts took place with the children and patients and culminated in July with Tea Parties and a co-created magical book, The Major and the Puzzle of the Broken Universe, handmade board games and shadow puppetry performances of the book.
